What we do across the asset lifecycle
From planning and design through to construction, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning, TAMS applies specialist expertise across every stage of marine and port infrastructure. This end-to-end capability ensures certainty of delivery, long-term asset performance, and enduring value for clients.
Planning & Design
We bring construction-led, practical knowledge of the marine environment from the outset. By assessing seabed conditions, currents, and vessel requirements, our teams work with clients to de-risk projects early, embed constructability, and design for long-term performance.
Construction
TAMS self-performs critical marine works including piling, dredging, quay wall and jetty structures, approach trestles, and portside facilities. Using specialist floating plant, custom-built equipment, and highly trained personnel, we deliver certainty in even the most challenging conditions.
Operations & Maintenance
The corrosive marine environment makes ongoing maintenance essential. We deliver inspection, repair, and strengthening programs — from deck rehabilitation and fender replacement to structural improvements and asset life extension. Our use of digital inspections, predictive maintenance, and remediation techniques helps clients avoid costly downtime.
Upgrades & Expansion
As infrastructure demands grow, we support upgrades that deepen berths, modernise wharves, integrate automation, and improve climate resilience. These works ensure assets remain competitive and capable of handling evolving shipping and logistics requirements.
Decommissioning & Remediation
At end of life, we apply marine deconstruction expertise to safely dismantle redundant structures, remediate sites, and prepare them for new uses. Our approach minimises risks and supports sustainable asset transition.

From our fleet to our people: where expertise unlocks capability
For more than 25 years, TAMS has built its reputation on delivering complex marine construction and maintenance projects across some of Australia’s most challenging environments.
While the company’s fleet composition remains a critical enabler of success, the true differentiator today lies in the expertise, skillset, and collective knowledge of our longstanding team. Experience has shown that vessels and equipment, no matter how modern or capable, only reach their full potential when operated and deployed by people who understand the nuances of marine construction and the demands of the environments in which we work.
TAMS’ approach has evolved from being “about the fleet” to being “about the people.” Our engineers, operators, and project delivery teams draw on decades of applied learning to design and implement pragmatic, construction-led solutions that anticipate risks, optimise methods, and ensure efficiency. This history of consistent performance underpins our ability to tailor solutions that balance technical requirements with real-world conditions. After 25 years of continuous operations, we know what is required -not only in terms of vessels and equipment, but in the sequencing, planning, and execution that ultimately determines project success.
The company maintains a bespoke, continually renewed fleet of specialist vessels and marine equipment. This ensures availability and control over critical project deadlines, while providing the flexibility to respond quickly to client needs. But these assets are only part of the story. The deeper value lies in the way our experienced team integrates fleet capability with technical knowledge, safety leadership, and an ingrained culture of delivery.
Together, this combination of modern fleet capability and trusted expertise ensures TAMS remains uniquely positioned to deliver reliable, efficient, and high-quality outcomes for clients across the full asset lifecycle of marine infrastructure.
Our shore bases
TAMS’ strategically located shore bases form the vital link between land and sea, ensuring projects are delivered with efficiency, certainty, and strong local benefit. With facilities in Port Hedland, Broome, Onslow, Fremantle, and Gladstone, these hubs provide immediate water access and underpin regional capability for complex marine and port works.
Each base is more than a logistical depot—it supports workforce deployment, vessel servicing, pre-construction staging, and equipment mobilisation. Dedicated laydown and modularisation zones enable prefabrication in controlled conditions, reducing risks, minimising disruption, and improving efficiency.
Embedded in local communities, TAMS’ shore bases strengthen regional supply chains, create jobs, and support Indigenous engagement. Their national spread provides resilience and flexibility, ensuring continuity of service while retaining the strength of local delivery.
